Several hundred years ago, wild horses would run free throughout the entire country. Today, most horses are contained and live their lives on farms; however, on one specific piece of land in South Dakota, horses gallop freely all day just like they did in the past.
The Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary was created in 1990 by Dayton O. Hyde, a true cowboy, conservationist, and an award-winning writer.
