“Ironic how these touch-screens can make us…lose touch.”
The average person spends 4 years of their life looking down at a cell phone. While many people are quick to blame cell phones, it’s what is on the phone that is the real problem. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, text messages, and social media, in general, are the real reasons people walk around with their heads stuck in their phones.
The phrase, “I imagine a world where we smile when we have low batteries. Because that will mean that we’ll be one bar closer to humanity” is such a powerful one. Technology gave us the promise of bringing humanity closer together but arguably, it is doing the opposite.
YouTuber Prince Ea asks the question in the following powerful video, “can we auto-correct humanity?”. Many people refuse to let technology control them and “unplugging” from time to time is the only way to truly reconnect with friends and family. The message is simple, be balanced, be mindful, be present, be here.
