One of them, his daughter Toni Cornell, has continued to honor his memory in the most touching way—through music.
At just 12 years old, Toni took the stage alongside Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic on Good Morning America to perform a heartfelt tribute to her late father. Together, they sang a moving rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” and the emotion in the performance was palpable. Audience members were seen wiping away tears, overwhelmed by the beauty of the moment. Toni’s strength and grace were evident as she honored her father’s memory with incredible poise.

The tribute was also dedicated to Chester Bennington, lead singer of Linkin Park and a close friend of Cornell. Bennington, devastated by Cornell’s death, tragically took his own life just two months later in July 2017. The performance served as a powerful reminder of the deep impact both artists had on the world—and how their music, and their memory, continue to live on through those who loved them.
