I can’t think of anything more close to a miracle than the miracle of birth. Most women go to the hospital once their contractions are close enough but a growing number of women are deciding to choose natural childbirth for their baby.
One woman, Erin Loechner, was determined to give birth to her baby daughter in her home and the fact that she shared her birth with the world is incredible. It wasn’t easy but she went through every step without epidurals or pain medication and you’ll be amazed every step of the way.
Erin’s contractions begin at 8 am.
It wasn’t easy but Erin concentrated on her breathing.
It’s important to have the support and her rock was Ken, her husband.
Erin found a comfortable spot on the couch to relax.
Walking through her home is a challenge but Ken was always by her side.
Every contraction was difficult but she remained strong.
Ken supports her through her breathing techniques.
Getting some rest between contractions.
Taking a quick break…
Moving through the house is not easy but Erin finds the strength to take each step.
Contractions brought Erin to her knees.
Her back also aches and her husband Ken massages her back.
Enjoying a moment of laughter.
Erin continues to concentrate on breathing.
Together, this couple is strong and they support each other beautifully.
Ken takes this moment to talk softly to Erin and help take her mind off things.
Labor would be much more difficult with the help and support of her husband and midwife.
The midwife takes Erin’s vitals and gets her ready for the birth of her baby daughter.
Erin gets into a relaxing bath.
Ken tells her how much he loves her and soon gets into the bath with her.
Erin’s husband takes care of her and ensures she is comfortable.
They both are in this together and can’t wait to welcome their baby girl into the world.
The final contractions are the most difficult.
It is time to deliver the baby and Erin gathers all of her strength.
Erin is focused and wants natural childbirth without painkillers.
There she is! They welcome their little bundle of joy.
It’s an emotional and happy time for both first-time parents.
They are so proud!
They caress their new baby daughter during her first cry.
Congratulations to both new parents and they have one lucky little girl.
